I'm There

Amidst the hustle, the bustle
the banter and busy daily buzz

I pause a while
sometimes, fumble
searching, seeking clarity.

Humble in my ways
watch the clouds roll by
see smiles etched in the sky that
(I know)
will last forever
from an artist’s palette
whose glance through lover’s eyes
paints with soul, ablaze.

Do you hear the wind blow?
It’s song is calling to you.
Wild and free
across tall grass prairies.
Or, do you stop to
feel it ‘neath bare feet.
That steady beat of nature’s life
between your toes.

Would you know the Celestial touch
that comes in whispers from a
gentle spirit as she
entreatingly imparts
‘I never did say goodbye’
don’t cry,
touch your heart

I’m there.’

Silent Solace

Mirrors reflect clouds of unknowing
and contentment hides in secret spaces
of the mind.

I wake in chrsytalline dreams
where prisms of light
dance across the transient insomnia
of my soul

it’s ache
so indistinct

ever there.

The colours of my life tremble
as drops do quiver on
sublime and succulent strands
of movement that lend hope to
discovering that you
were here with me

the dream fades

and too soon you leave me yet
to the night’s quiet realm
as wings still seeking comfort
glide upon an ocean of wind’s
silent solace.

This is something I wrote a long time ago, sharing it here because it is applicable to the Poetry Pot Luck and One Single Impression Promts. It’s not how I feel, today.

Early morning madness and the magic in the making.

As if we never said Goodbye
This is from a musical by Sir Andrew LLoyd Webber created called ‘Sunset Boulevard.’

I’d only heard it a couple of times and the song kept playing over and over in my head this past few days. Couldn’t figure out why nor, where it was from. Hummed it to Chloe and she said: ‘It’s from my show Glee.’ I told her not to be daft, it’s an oldish song.  She was adamant it was from her show.  As it’s on Video on Demand, she found it and sure enough, it’s a song her fav character (who just happens to be gay) sings. Beautiful song, lovely words.
I miss ‘the early morning madness and, the magic in the making.’ So much.
Love this song. He sounds like a girl but, what a voice! Love the words.
