Sun shines on pure white frost
creating Heaven’s sparklers
across that cold scene.
After a lazy weekend
I imagine one could share
that Monday morning gloom
but,
that would spoil the joy
in the gift of this new day.

The pure white frost is indeed heaven’s sparklers! You’re right each day is a gift.
ah, yes ~ each day we awake and are still alive is a gift, is it not? {smile}

Beautiful. I just love frost and winter so I am about this despite the gloom of Monday!

If only we keep our eyes open. Good reminder.
Too right! Love this.
Because I don’t work outside the home, I usually lose track of days. But Mondays are special because my hub, the pastor, has the day off. In this way, I am almost always guaranteed that Mondays will not be blue! I am blessed, and each day is indeed a gift. Peace, Amy

woww…short and so beautiful…
Loved the image weaved in here….
This is a good reminder. Whenever you go, there you are.The observer is the creator.
Lovely, Bren. My son and I were entranced by the frost diamonds catching sunlight on the lawn this morning, waiting for his bus…
Beautifully written and your image…well, I don’t think I’ve seen one quite like it.
I enjoyed this especially because it captures the way natures beauty can bring out the innocence in us as we admire it-no agenda-just “wow”!
I like the feeling of innocence in this…we all can feel when the day brings us a vision of beauty!
All is gift! Lovely sentiments and photo!
Well, you just described my monday morning. Perfect!
there is something quite stunning about blades of grass coated in a mixture of morning frost and budding sunlight. it can definitely wipe away the Monday morning blues.
I feel the wonder, excitement and chills of a frosty morning-thats what your opening reminds me of. I smiled. Thank you.
love the photo, that frost is a sign my favorite time of the year is here. Each new day is a gift waiting.
Sometimes we have to just let it be about ourselves…makes a good moment a great moment at times. Loved it.
…and a gift, no matter the season. 🙂 frost can be such a pain, but beautiful if I am tucked away, warm inside my house. Great attitude, this poem.
Beautiful. I like your upbeat philosophy as expressed here.
True, every day is a gift 🙂
I love that you see the gift. The frost photo is gorgeous. Happy Monday, kiddo!
yeah, we had the hardest frost yet this year this morning. gloom or gift? hmmmm.
Yeah it is a gift but my spirits do not lift, when I have to work or that snow comes down or I get stuck behind a dumb driving jerk or…I don’t want to be here all day haha
Yes, Bren and this needs to be remembered and embraced…the image and thought of heavens sparklers…love that…a celebration indeed! 🙂
I so much agree with you. Everyday is full of potential and if we look for it, we’ll find beauty. Nicely written.
Its a great wonderful day ~ The autumn skies are bright and we have slightly warmer temperatures ~
Have a great week Bren ~
I love your poem…from the icy thought to igniting joy!
Beautiful!
beautiful… I’ve been enjoying the “sparklers” on the roof outside my bedroom window.
ah it is such a gift…and i love that you capture its beauty…the sparklers…great image that…another tough monday…we had another kid killed last night in a wreck…3 in one week…but i am determined to fidn the beauty in the day….
You have me smiling. My morning image was not so frosty, but still over-ruled Monday morning blues.
Joy, something to hang on to! Lovely poem.
Every new day is a gift, indeed, Monday or not! Well said.
