Stairs and Swears

Same thing every morning.
She arrives, and immediately flops sideways into the arm chair to fall back to sleep for a few more minutes

“Getting up time” I call, as I do every day.
Clomp, clomp clomp down the stairs then a sudden bang, followed by: ‘Ow’

“What did you do?”

“I forgot to turn.”

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Those are not our actual stairs but I wanted to show what I mean by our stairs face one way and then there’s a small landing and they twist back on themselves to remain facing the same way.
When I asked what the bang was, still being half asleep… Chloe forgot to turn and had walked into the wall.
*No kids were harmed in the production of this 55 😉
  1. This reminds me of a set of back stairs that once operated in a farm house. The entrance was from a hole in the floor from the bunk room to the kitchen. As the hired folk were only in the house to sleep, pass through the kitchen grabbing food and heading out the door. It was narrow had a very small curve half step turn right into the door that lead to the kitchen. Once the farm was no longer functioning the hatch was permanently closed and the stair way turned into a pantry. I don’t think there was room to fall down 🙂
  2. Great that she is alright. We have a few incidents like that in our home. It is harder now that hubby is having the same problem getting up . LOL
    I try to keep all the cats out of their ways. Amen.
  3. DD2…
    I’ve always said that real life is the best inspiration.
    I wake up with difficulty myself.
    Loved your sleepy eyed 55
    Thanks for playing, and have a Kick Ass Week-End
  4. Somehow, I knew right away that you were talking about trying to awaken a child, or worse, or teenager. Those steps look dangerous, almost as bad as mine which are narrower with a turn at the top.
  5. I’ve forgotten to turn occasionally. Sometimes forgetting can be good, but in that case it’s only painful.
  6. LOL that must be quite the turn, who wants to get up anyway, geesh. Sure a bloody hell has come from the stairs a time or ten too haha
  7. hahaha….i mean, i hope she is ok…smiles…i have had a few bangs before awake…and my kids run from bed to couch and cover up again until breakfast is ready as well….smiles.
