It’s a kind of Magic

Hush now…
he paints the scene

One star in the sky

nothing  disturbs the surround sound
of nature’s own murmurings

the old house creaks
through the quiet hours

unless someone wakens to
break the dream

it’s a kind of magic.

  1. I love the quiet magic you invoked in this peaceful poem, Bren. It’s just in time for hibernation to commence. Zzzz……… =D

  2. “the surround sound
    of nature’s own murmurings”

I agree, it IS kind of magic.

  3. Very subtle, not so exaggerated or complex. Each and every flavor blended very well. Very nicely portrayed. I loved it.

  4. “breathing
    through the quiet hours”

In the surround sound she is the listener as he paints the scene and the narrator captures the mood n words that I see in the scene: There’s a kind of a hush . . .magic. (I love these impressionistic moments.)

  5. There is something so special about the hush of the night, a quiet time, a special time, a magical time indeed. Well done, Bre! So good to see you at my diary, dear friend, and to read your wonderful words. Love, Freewind

  6. and there is a magic in your poem, beautiful dreamer, as one would expect – a hush over your words, like a secret waiting to happen.
