Ripple Effect

One step is all

One small step which you
may never regret at all.

That one tiny motion
can lead into the deepest
ocean of either joy
or, sorrow.

At the end of the day
I remember
Standing still will not
fulfill the dream

and…

If it rains

it rains

The sun will shine again.

On a prayer
or in a song

I hear a voice in
winds so high
singing from a sky of love

Life is motion
…move on.

Take the step

that one small step

Create a ripple effect
and then, discover

Where it Leads.

  1. Quite inspiring! I sometimes think life is nothing more than a series of intersecting ripples, with all our actions both large and small impacting others. Wonderfully written!

  2. “Take the step

    that one small step

    Create a ripple effect
    and then, discover

    Where it Leads”

    wonderful…..

  3. Really beautiful!! Like a song really, soft and lilting with such a simple yet inspirational message. Love it 🙂

  4. ‘life is motion’…
and one step further in the word itself: it needs motivation
which is not always easy to conjure up.
    Nice take on the compass.

  5. I really enjoy your poetry, the way you write, and what you have to say. This is powerful to me because I can so easily become overwhelmed and all I need to remember is I just need to tak one small step…

  6. You were speaking straight to my deepest heart in this. Take the step. It may rain, yes, or seem dark too sudden, but the sun WILL shine again, illuminating things more.

    Nothing ventured, nothing gained.

Beautiful reminder that all it takes is 20 seconds of courage sometimes. Or even 10!

  7. The fastest way to do anything is to do one thing at a time! Each baby step will create the beginnings of a lot of good. But we still could not determine when we would ‘arrive’ Great thoughts Bren!

  8. This is incredibly wise and beautiful and I am going to send it to someone who needs to read it right now. Bless you for your beautiful heart! and beautiful poetry!!!!

  9. life is motion…that is for sure…so funny…between you, me and mary we all talk about dreams today…must be something going around….smiles….you never get to dreams until you are ready to move toward them….

  10. Lovely words. I once took that step. It didn’t work out for me and I’m starting all over again, but I don’t regret taking the step; it’s what life’sall about, living and daring to try something new even if you’re afraid.

  11. Life is motion
    …move on.

A very fine reminder to see ripples and ye will find. Thank you for the reminder not to stand still (but a pause is fine),

  12. Heard you loud and clear … you just spoke to my soul … and I thank you, my friend … have a good w/e, Bren and Chloe. Love, cat.

  13. Indeed, everything begins with one step. We cannot move backwards, only can move ahead. We may not know where the step(s) will lead; but one thing about life, we will definitely find out!
