Fleeting
a shadow of wings
blurred at the edges
and gone in a flash
yet the shortness of flight
cannot convey its depth.
Maybe a spirit
lost
trying to find its way
(as are we all)
Water music plays
its liquid serenade
expanding the circles
in my mind
drawing me in, whilst
a distant drummer, beats
beckoning me to horizons
I have yet to dream and
shores I’ve yet to see.

Those drums that beckon us to still keep dreaming…a beautiful piece!
a feel of great sense of expectancy in this piece
Lovely way of interpreting the image, Bren.

You’ve created something special here, a really enjoyable read on many levels.
Loved the image of blurred wings and spirits… and fleeting glances of them…. This had a “otherworldly” feel to it for me. Nice.
Very nice Bren. I like dreaming of those horizons and shores I have yet to see ~

Nicely written, Bren.
Hey dreamer, love how you brought music in to this one, the ending is unbelieveably great.
Really enjoyed this, especially last stanza. I combined the two prompts as well.

This is beautiful and it flows nicely!
Love, love, love “liquid serenade.” So beautiful. Water is absolutely captivating.
Good day Dayreamertoo, this is a wonderful poem. I love the words you have chosen to make your musical poem. Loved reading it.
Thank you for sharing.
So beautiful! “horizons I’ve yet to dream and shores I’ve yet to see.”
Lost can be fun, especially when you get found, unless you stay lost then of course you’d never know being found so you could still have fun, win win..haha
Bren
Beautiful…I am using water in mine! I love the feathers and the intimate details. It has a magical quality!
I love it 😀
This is a great combination of ideas – I think the last three lines resonate!
