Sloppy Joes

“So, can we have that for supper?”

“I don’t know how to make it.”

“My dad told me. It’s really easy. He said all you need is a couple of things.”

“I don’t know how to make Floppy Joes.”

“Oh, that’s a great name for it! Must remember to tell the guys that at school.”

Of course, mention anything ‘floppy’ and a mans name now to a soon-to-be 16 year old girl is dynamite.
She cracked up when I got the name wrong. I’ve never made Sloppy Joes before and she asked her dad how to and wants me to make them.
Well, I got the name mixed up….. hahaha we did have a giggle for a few minutes, especially when she said she was going to tell her her school pals the new name for them….LOL

  1. My favorite “fast food” Manwich and baked beans. How could one not know of sloppy joes? I hope you liked them.

  2. I am so sure you will have a story on how Sloppy Joe got its name, that is just one of those tidbits that I can see you tell us about 🙂

Floppy Joe’s it is, I agree. I love the story, any story about you and your daughter, just so cool! You are a cool mom 🙂

  3. Ha ha! I will never eat Sloppy Joe’s again without thinking of your story. Come to think of it, wonder how they got the name “Sloppy Joe’s” anyway….Floppy makes just as much sense!

  4. She sounds so happy, and the relationship you have with a teenager is admirable, Bren. Lots of kids are gnarly with their moms at this age. Way to go! (My son once remarked – with amazement and some wonder – how wise I had gotten in my old age. As opposed to the total doofus I had been before, I presume. Hee hee.)

  5. hahaha well it’s an easy mistake, still I like Floppy better too. Either way I would never eat the things though.

  6. Burger+Can of Manwich…Voila!!
    Loved your Floppy/Sloppy 55 DD2
And don’t ever again admit that you’ve never heard of Sloppy Joes.
Thanks for playing, and have a Kick Ass Week-End

  7. This is darn cute. I’m gonna try that ‘floppy’ trick with my own little one and see how it flies.
