Boarderlands

I used to fear darkness and
silence for what they might reveal
(maybe, about myself)
now,
I trust that quiet and yearn for
it to settle dissonant moods.

Stop all the clocks
to find the stillness
where rat-race living ends
and real life begins as
vision clears.

Is anything more lovely
than the sights and
sounds of love?

Warm teardrops from the sun
awaken the beauty of that
which sleeps in wombs of
every kind of earthly mother
before she gives birth to
her newest star.

So,
raise your pen and write
irresistible words which
will tell of when
time itself stood still on
your borderland of worlds.

  1. “…raise your pen and write
irresistible words…” – ad you just did. Stunning poem Daydreamer. Sorry for not being around as often as I wished.Have a lot to catch up so it seems :)Thanks for your always kind comments
    Have a wonderful day
    Love/Eclipse

  2. Sometimes we have to fall, as such, to regain strength!
This captures a lot of honest emotion and is wonderful to read!
    Poppy:)

  3. Excellent as usual. really like the topic here, very inspirational feel at times, but great use of imagery again. Love the second and fourth stanzas, really nice job. Thanks

  4. I like that borderline too..though its frightening at times but still it is a journey full of excitement and mystery ~

  5. Your writing always resonates with me. This is one of my favorites of yours. I especially love “the stillness…..where real life begins”…..the last stanza is especially inspiring.

  6. Time stood still at the birth of my three children. There really isn’t anything more beautiful than the sights and sounds of love. I really enjoyed this!

  7. Crossing borders … exciting and frightening … like giving birth to new life. Quite an eye opener. Thank you,Bren :) Always, cat.

  8. I trust that quiet and yearn for
    it to settle dissonant moods.

I often think this is the place that poets live in–the place that most others can’t quite settle into–Lovely, lovely write!

  9. Yes, lost in order to be found again. I love thinking about the borderland of worlds….very mystical!

  10. Thanks for stopping by… my wordle (and can be accessed through the SundayWhirl by Mr.Linky) – was a few days before the piece you visited, Brenda suggested a continuation of my ‘Looking for Lois’ which was the wordle before ‘Actions, Attractions, Distractions’ #44.
Indeed we are all Wonder Women! Boarderlands is indeed what we all go through, ‘change’ being the only real constant in our lives.

  11. fromt eh start you speak truth…and i used to fear that dark as well but find in it sweet silence…no there is nothing more beautiful than love either…smiles…nice verse bren

  12. I don’t mind being lost and will write whatever each day and night. Unless it’s some Deliverance type place or that scary Island, then I will stay found, not lost.

  13. yep..love me a journey to these borderlands of quiet and silence…sometimes i’d yearn to stop all the clocks to find some stillness…and escape the rat-race..thanks for the poem…made me breathe easier..
