Almost in Heaven

Oh, the listening waves

such trusted friends
and the welcome vacuum of
space and time lends
another ear to woes.

Questions always lead to more
as always, the same.

Once,
I was so sure

but, only an aura of
contemplative magic
can now un-break a heart
and,
in that mystical silence
comes the healing touch.

Out with the old
and in with the new
whether I compete or not
the dance between
earth and sky
continues

and I,

I cannot help but burn with
life’s passion for love
from the eternal flame.

Sometimes I hear the Angels
speak to me and sing with harmony
inside my soul’s safe haven
and,
I could swear

I’m almost in Heaven.

*NB:  If anyone who reads me owns their own website, there was a website I came across last night that had taken all of my information, of who my web host was when it began when it is ending, my google analytics account numbers and where I ranked in several search engines and such and, how many visitors I get in a day, it even quoted how much it was worth to buy my website (not much) LOL  But,   I’ve never heard of this website before and when I tried to email them to ask them to remove my site and all of the personal info the email he gave as contact wasn’t vaild. So, I then did some digging and discovered the person’s real email address and emailed him. It’s a guy in Russia!
I told him I wanted my website and info removed from his website or I would contact someone who deals with internet privacy. After several emails, he finally took the info page down. I don’t object to my website being seen by anyone, the more the merrier but, I do object to him and anyone else sharing information about who my web host is, when ownership of it runs out how many pages views I get a day and such.
The website is widestat.com He is adding hundreds of websites to his lists every minute and if you don’t want your own info shared on his site you can email this guy to his ‘real’ email address which is anton.pershin@gmail.com
Although I told him if he wants his website to be taken seriously he ought to provide people with an authentic contact email address and I see today he’s changed and added a contact form to it.

  1. Almost but not quite… is the food and the challenge I seek to rediscover the magic of my own childhood. Thanx 4 sharing.

  2. Well, as always, thanks for the note…might explain all the traffic I’m getting from that part of the world! No doubt has me there as well…rather than ranting, I am going to address this beautiful, searching, poem. Reads such as this, Bren…only gives me more faith in the great upstairs…this was a wonderful weave!

  3. Hold you head up high,as you were my angel when I grppelt with “things” … Your poem “Fabric Of Time” is still my healing and turning mantra … forever thanful for that. Blessed be. Love, cat.

  4. It took my breath away reading what the guy in Russia did to you…it is amazing what people will stoop to, then again, not these days … sad.

On a higher note…your words…so wonderful…and struck a wonderful chord in my soul:
    “Sometimes I hear the Angels
speak to me and sing with harmony
    inside my soul’s safe haven
    and,
    I could swear

    I’m almost in Heaven.”

    Thank you for sharing
    Peace,

  5. Wondering verse, very soothing indeed. Also agree to continue to live anew.

As far as that site goes, sadly there are plenty more where that comes from. Don’t know why they think they have the right, but you take one down 50 more pop up.

  6. I like this:

    “whether I compete or not
    the dance between
    earth and sky
    continues”

  7. There’s a wistful quality I think to this one, heaven is peace, don’t we all love that!! 🙂
Sorry about the mishap with your site, xxxx

  8. Thanks for the tip! Your rendition is great. There is something great that we associate as being heavenly as nirvana is. And we keep looking for it!

  9. I think there are times when angels visit and we must be alive to something inside ourselves that allows us to receive them. Your wonderful words evoke that state of love and oneness with creation that bring oh so close to our lives. I do not know whether heaven exists or not, I can only hope it does. But the music and the words that will make its reality so clear to me is words like you have put down here. For I do believe in something called a simplicity of heart that must exist should heaven prove to be my final destination. It is this simplicity that I hear in your poem and the music that carries them.

  10. There are moments in time that your phrase “Almost in Heaven” simply captures as though fleeting but you know it’s there. Beautiful Bren! Glad you figured out this fellow and his site. Doesn’t sound legitimate to me. Your site is wonderful and no one has the right to exploit it for their own purposes.

  11. I LOVE this… especially the ending. I wrote on heaven too.

On the commentary, OMG… how’d you ever find out about it? That is scary. Thanks so much for letting us know.

  12. Yes, when one stands on the beach and listens to the ocean’s roar, one IS almost in heaven. This is such a beautiful, beautiful poem. I especially love “whether I compete or not the dance between earth and sky continues”. How absolutely lovely! Also “life’s passion for love from the eternal flame”. Sigh. Love love love this poem, fellow traveler.

  13. When you get right down to it, we are all almost in heaven..and I wonder sometimes about the angels. I hear them too sometime, in the voices of other people I know. Nicely philosophized, Bren.

  14. weird thing with the website…just wondering why people do such things..
love your poem..and yes.. Out with the old
and in with the new.. that’s a good way to approach life…making new space for the adventures and love and fun to come..

  15. thanks for the heads up on the guy…

but lets not let it take away from your verse as well…lovely…i belong to the doctrine of love…smiles…and maybe heaven will have it perfect…but until then i will dance that dance in my own flawed way…smiles…and i dont mind questions i think they only deepen faith…

  16. How scary to find your website listed there. Thanks for the clue in. One really has to keep one’s eyes wide open and watchful with so many schemers alive and well out there.
