Cold winds snap at ankles
also fraying mood
Where now?
is there to go from here
As elusive as the truth has been
to heart-filled eyes.
Who now?
will fall when you mark your
calling across their lives with
each shadow of passing time.
Karma has a way of dealing
its own brand of fairness and
we must remain compassionate.
When now?
do we look to the one who
should be blamed for being
taken the fool.

Karma is a curious thing…good and bad. Nice write.
Lots of questions! This has a meditative feel to it! 😦
Especially love the line about compassion. Yes, your writing flows with such apparent ease, it is quite wonderful.

lots of truth in that and love the bite in your last stanza on where we should be looking…nice piece bren…
Everything that you write seems to flow with such ease. It makes one feel good. The photo is very cool.
An interesting response to the prompt, especially the ending. Sometimes it IS the one who is fooled who is more responsible than the trickster! Something to think about.
always been a believer in “what goes around…” and “do unto others…” just the whole idea that what you put into the world is what you get back. Nice write on the subject, like the bringing in of compassion. poignant.
my latest post (ironically lol)

Karma does come back around and justice can be found, at least most of the time, sometimes people still get away with their crime. But I guess nice I should be, so karma doesn’t bite me.
Ahhh … Karma … I have been circling this topic forever and have not come to any conclusions, yet … that’s where compassion comes in … I always say: Compassion comes from knowing that you are sure that you are not sure. Love you, thank you, my friend. Always, cat.
