Eyes closed
(as if in prayer)
face turned toward the light
In blue aquatic hue
she calls (perhaps)
and waits for her
creation to
carry its vibration
throughout all the waves
across all the oceans
and all the seas
Out into time and space
and, touch eternity
with the beauty of
Earth’s song.

For those interested: This is one of many sculptures designed by an English man called Jason deCaires Taylor. He creates them so that they can be left underwater and eventually over time they will grown and form new artificial ‘coral reefs.’

This is lovely …..
Really lovely.
=)
Like whale song. Good Magpie
The last four lines seemed to me to be what it all was leading to. Beautifully wrought.
A beautifully fitting piece for the image. Elementary indeed!
I love the notion of earth having a song…lovely…
A beautiful write, Bren.
it’s fascinating the things you can learn just by visiting someone else’s blog … I love both your poem and the info re the underwater sculptures …
Each giving a spark and leaving a mark even when we go poof and the universe sucks up the proof.
She definitely looks so alive underwater. Your poem gave her life and purpose! Well written.
I love this and the thoughts it brings up as I read that everything we do and say sends out a small wave in the world.
So beautiful, Bren … I checked out Jason’s sculptures … yes, she is waiting for new ceaetion to make their home on her … lovely … Always, cat.
Your words really connect with the pic. Excellent.
I like that you see her in prayer… this is lovely!
yes..it looks as if she sings…the earth song…beautiful melodical…
nice…we are each a ripple and it does go out…we may never truly see what it touches but know that it does…
