A salt sea breeze filled my senses
as I lay in my bed
subconscious playing a naughty
tactic to keep me in the dream.
I swim and swim
until, exhausted
tread water and watch
sands of time sweep swift
across seasons, taking me too
in their drift.
Tired, I flounder
climb a dune
grasping tufts here and there
to keep from sliding back
into the abyss.
A flutter of eyelids
heralds dawns arrival with certainty
the sun will soon light up the sky
Peace resides in silence.
I pray for you, for me
for others, then more
that I may never know
yet care
and on the wings of naught
but love
will rise once more to
let the day begin.

Beautiful. I like the idea of floundering in dreams but then eventually rising to meet the day. And, yes, peace does reside in silence.
loved the pic, water, the dream, the wishe hmmm
You are able to impart such a sense of peace with your writing. Thank you!
What a wonderful piece..I found myself on the journey of your lucid dreaming..it is perhaps an easier place to dwell in..wishing you good dreams..and new days..Jae
This describes the early morning subconscious well. I liked the way you used naught in this poem.
Swim, my friend, keep swimming … until You arive at my shore … I’ll be waiting for you with a nice warm towel … and some hot tea … I’ll even purr for you … let me take care of you for a while … Love you, cat.
This made me long for swimming and other things I can’t identify. Very well done.
Dreaming is good but it’s great to be awake. 🙂
Happy New Year!
This is so descriptive and beautiful especially the flow of it.I truly enjoyeD this piece.
a certain arrival provides divine hope.
happy new year:)
That was beautiful. Lovely words and lovely sentiment.
Love the ending of the poem-great use of the words!
Dream a little Dream and soon in your head they’ll beam. Until you have to wake, but I guess some lovey dovey rising isn’t a bad way for the day to begin. Damn, that sort of sounded bad..lol
This has such a nice flow to it.
