Beautiful Noise

Water drips down the pane
splish, splosh,
splish, splish, splosh
Open my hand and, as it
splatters and splashes its song
a sigh escapes.

I entrust my friend the wind
to make inanimate objects dance
and feel the gifts she freely gives
as she touches my skin
sending shivers, reminding me of life
then, playfully ruffles my hair.

The blessed water is
a symphony of dreams
soothing in its emotionally seductive
connection to soul love.

Hesitant to leave the moment
lest it be lost forever
(I sigh)
breathe deeply once again
before returning thought
unto the world.

  1. To capture such a moment is a wonderful thing. Where the rush of modern day slips away leaving us with only that raw beauty and calm.

  2. Really good piece, I love the words used in the opening stanza so much how it came out. Really chose words that embody the sound and feel the words represent. Great job here. Thanks

  3. beautiful as are natures wonders when they’re gentle …Uk has been some what windswept recently! Thank you for this soothing melodic piece .Happy 2012 xx x x

  4. Sometimes Nature is the lovelist of lovers. It soothes, calms and exhilerates. Beautiful prose, Bre!
As to textbroker, just give it time as it is a new branch of the company and there are alot of people out there trying to make a penny. A 3 star rating is what I got and still have because I have been too lazy to study the AP book. One resolution I do have is to work harder and upgrade my status. Love ya always!

  5. Nice write ..specially the textures are very good here .. loved the lines echoing sound of rain water , ruffling hair..

  6. I got shivers reading this. Wonderful.
    Soulful words.

Wishing you a wonderful year ahead. Happy all of 2012.☺.

  7. So excited I was able to leave a comment-ya! I wanted to wish you a happy and healthy new year! I sent you a tweet the other day but I am not sure that you received it.

  8. This is such a good example of the poet’s gift of really noticing the details of each moment. Beautifully written. I like “my friend, the wind.”

  9. nice..i love the music of a storm…the rain…the overflow of gutters…the plip plop shussshhh crash…i like to stand on the porch and watch and listen…

  10. A very spiritual piece…lovely to take a moment to feel the elements on our skin, connect with the earth…

  11. Rain and wind both are powerful aspects that can serve to feed our souls. This is so beautifully captured in your write–and so delicately too.

  12. Never fear if the moment goes, as you can Splish Splash taking a bath but beware there might be a bloody party going on.
