Back to Basics

They may start with good intentions, but sooner or later most politicians become corrupt. I’ve always said money equals power, eventually most power corrupts and, absolute power creates monsters like Hitler, Stalin, Pol Pot, Gadhaffi and many more. So, in a way I’m glad we little people are having an occupy this and occupy that.

In so many ways politicians usually end up corrupt. The money, power or both, eventually goes to their head and they abuse their positions of trust then. (You only have to look at the troubles of some of the GOP candidates for president to see this.)
The new God for the past hundred years or so has become money. It is now loved and worshiped and the more some have, the more they want… and to some, no amount will never be enough.
Money and ‘things’ have become all important and seem to matter now to so many. So much more than love, kindness and compassion for our fellow human beings.
But some of us are waking up now. Starting to realising it’s all going so badly …wrong.

  1. so sad but it has always been greed and power. even in our guise of helping others it is still power.
how can we change that? who has the answer?
i honestly dont think the ones in DC know what the “common” man is going through today. no common sense or morals in washington today. that would be too easy.

  2. There’s a reason this old ladies political party is “Cynical”.
I agree with Anthony that is has been so forever…but disagree on “subtle”…they think they are subtle, but with computers and cameras and everyone monitoring everyone else’s life under a microscope…
there is no rug to hide under…just a matter of when the truth is revealed in my opinion.
    Thanks for the great post.

  3. I agree with you.. and it gets more and more disgusting with each new generation of power brokers. And yes, we the people should stand up and be heard.

  4. In the early 70s, my father said, “If there is anything that will ever bring down this country, it’s greed.” I was raised with Great Depression values – if somebody has nothing to eat, feed him or her; everyone is your family. If we do not push through a referendum of two terms, or perhaps Occupy Washington, this is going straight to oligarchy, which is monarchy without the crowns. A few families controlling all the wealth. Let’s not confine these thoughts to this FINE blog – pick up the phone and make some calls to members of Congress. Thanks, DD, for a stirring post. Peace, Amy

  5. They removed the last occupiers in our town yesterday. I guess the only way to make ourselves heard is to starve the beast in whatever ways we can.

  6. DD2…
Politics sure was the theme today yes?
    Loved your 55 My Friend.
Thanks for playing, thanks for your continual support, and have a Kick Ass Week-End

  7. So true! And won’t all the politicians be surprised when they learn how awake we’ve truly become. 😉

  8. Money is the root of all evil … unless we share it … wrapped in love and compassion. Love always, my friend, cat.

  9. Couldnt agree more. Want to hear something ironic. The ad under this post in my rss reader said “use stock ticker to turn $10,000 into $100,000.” lol- I found that humorous!

  10. True, what the heck is the good of the laws if they can just do whatever the heck they like? Stupid! Plus who needs 7 damn homes anyway, that is just dumb. But it is always the same the more they get the more they want.

  11. i am too…at its heart this is what my 55 is about as well…i am fairly sick of them breaking laws when they want and then starving out the rest of us…
