I turn away from a cold kiss
which clasps each breath as
winter’s dying bequeaths.
From a distance
vow never to let you go
or
yield your secrets through
a depth of pain and
understanding only you
could know.
In alliance with other seasons
all melting into you from
fields of iced tears and of
heavy hearts
In this frozen purity
and longest sleep of the just
from introspective yearnings
knowing this mood soon will pass and
spring will bring back that
new-born kick of life again.

I want to have a tropical winter. I despise the cold.
Beautiful poem!
Beautiful poem. As the wheel turns winter turns to spring to bring the kick of renewal.
This is incredible, really powerful with a depth of melancholy and waiting that resonates deeply with me. Can’t pick a favourite line – they all seem just perfect.
Nice poem, beautiful.
Snow queen-like…I suppose.
Cool looking blog

Ahhh So much better, making me think about the snow going far far far away and a nice new spring day. Winter can disappear now if you like, go tell it to take a hike.
yes, the mood too will pass. it may take days, weeks, all season, but it will pass. you’re pouring your heart out in a lovely weaving of words as always. thanks for the wonderful reading. take care, stay hopeful. ~Olive Tree.
the new born kick of life…that happens a lot come spring…literally and metaphorically…renewal…we have to walk through the long sleep first…
