What bliss there is
in the magic of a kiss.
Lips part
as face approaches awaiting
eager face.
Eyes shine and twinkle
their dare
as minds entwine inside
their circle of unknown
mystery.
Breathing in the heat of
shared lover’s flame
pulses beat a tempo
of steadily building drums
the closer each one comes.
Savouring with all senses
everything devine
time stands still
…forgotten.
All that matters is
the now.
They are creating
Magic.
Closer, then closer still
the thrill of it is there
they are in
the essence of a kiss.
The eagerness to touch
parted mouths that wait
…anticipate
Yet reluctant to release
they gaze
and still, the moment builds
’til the waiting is too tense
too tempting and, the urge
becomes too strong
Lips meet eager lips
and then
the kiss is won.

The pic is of course, of famous actors Clarke Gable and Vivien Leigh from the movie Gone with the Wind. I think it has to be one of the most romantic movies ever made. Such passion.

You’ve captured the moment of anticipation so well here and then “the kiss is won”. Well done 🙂
You captured my Imagination.
Wonderful capture of this ephemeral yet all-consuming moment.
A kiss can be magic… Your poetry surely is. 🙂
Really liked your post. Just like a first kiss.
Very emotional writing leading right into the moment. Great guide.
You have captured this moment so well, like a stage director, building the tension towards release. Good one!
this is beautiful.
perfect wording and image.

Wonderfully done, this kiss you’ve described! The poem is wonderful, as well!

Wondeful build up to the prize. From the right person that sure is a prize to be won. Of course I knew the pic too, can’t get that one by me..haha
Great observations in this poem. The last line is great too :O)
Very romantic! I love the ending “a kiss won” for a kiss is a prize to cherish. Here’s my offering: http://terri0729.wordpress.com/2011/08/29/soul-kiss/
