She

SHE

Soft and gentle
see her there

staring

But, she could kill you
with one glance
given half the chance.

Daring

She is bold, but not reckless
brave, but not feckless.

She has a quiet courage and
a cunning stealth to help her
in the winning of her ways.

She can be

a mother, a lover, a wife, a child.

She is rich in treasure beyond our
wildest measure, for she has the gift
of sharing the most beautiful
colours of all life.

She is what she needs to be.

She is every woman

And

Every woman is…. She.

  1. Lovely! This so so true about women. I like the way you have brought out the contrast between her strength and her vulnerability.

  2. This is a glorious spectrum of roles, of choices, of all that women can be… each at various times of life. Like the leaf reaching the end of its life cycle in your previous poem, there is a time for all things. My time? Growing gray and being proud of it. Not Botoxing wrinkles. Waiting for my Crone Crown, and still, wondering what I want to be when I grow up! Thanks for a delicious post, DD2! Amy
