About

The First of Many

I’ve kept an online journal for the past 11 years but, decided it was time I joined the blogging world. I’m a lover, a writer, a poet, a computer tech and gadget freak.
At 17…. I voluntarily enlisted in the Women’s Royal Army Corps (W.R.A.C.)  I’ve driven a red, Double decker bus and worked for the Police Force.
10 years ago I moved across the Atlantic to be with my partner. She passed away and now I raise my late life-partners child. It’s not at all easy, being a single parent.
I am spiritual but, do not follow any organised religion. If you want to join me on my path then, please do~!Please note:

Beautiful word play here! Leads come sparingly but enough for us to look for ways to strive for more! Awesome verse!

  • Thank you. I have enjoyed reading your poetry – it is serene and genuine. Zub.

  • so nice to meet you and best to you on your journey!

I see your name is Bren…I like to have a name if I can… I’m very sorry that you lost your partner. It’s never easy being a parent and I wish you well in caring for her/him. I appreciate your wonderful visits to my blog and sharing your thoughts with me. Thank you.

  • I wanted to comment on your Army SC!

I loved the simplicity of that little gem of a story. It’s funny, really, how much you can say with very few words. The longing was so apparent in your writing.

Thank you for linking up. Hope your Holidays continue to be Merry and Bright!

  • Hi, I do Friday Blog reviews for Jingle Poetry/The Gooseberry Garden, and since I noticed you asked people ask you permission to share you work, I wanted to know if you’d be okay with me writing a review on your blog sometime in the future?

    YOU are awesome! Hugggs :)

  • Daydreamertoo,

I tried to find an email address for you, but I could not. It is possibly just me!
I wanted to thank you for your very kind words left as a comment at my poem, Seasonal Changes….
I can understand the issues with a broken ankle, as I have managed to break both ankles during my teenage years. Both times did not involve any snow or ice!!!! Simply a wooden horse in a gymnasuium and tripping on a pavement in the month of July.
Thank you so much for your kind words today.
    Best wishes, Eileen

Bren, thank you for leaving me that very supportive comment yesterday on my blog piece, Seeking. I understand everything you said and you are absolutely right. Reading this little blurb piece about you, I can see that you’ve been through a painful part in your life too. May each one of you and everyone in our lives be strong enough and be able to rely on one another to go through any storm that life gives us because those storms are supposed to making us stronger. May we also help, inspire, support each other in our journey and healing process through our work. The pleasure is mine in meeting you. ~Olive Tree.

Thanks for stopping by my Remebering post. The story was fiction, but it felt so right when it came to me. I’m a subscriber to your website and I love it! Your posts are always so thought-provoking and I really enjoy them!

Hello! I found your blog through another poetry one. That’s one of my favorite quotes: “You may say I’m a dreamer, but I’m not the only one.” You’re not. There are many of us, and although I can vouch from personal experience, it can be lonely or disheartening at times (very sorry to hear about the loss of your partner), know that there are others out there who are dreaming, writing, and taking steps to walk their own unique journey while sharing the joys and difficulties of life. Look forward to reading more of your work!

Hi Dreamer, I can’t figure out how to leave comments
on your exceptional poetry. I only blog, I don’t have
    facebook or the rest.

  • Bren, I read this before, but just re-read it again. I have precious little short term memory, so needed the refresher to remember and understand your story. You have walked through the fire of grief, and I applaud you for so gracefully stepping in to raise your step-daughter, with such humor. Lovely. I so love it when humans rise to the occasion. In fact, when they Transcend, I love it most of all. And you have done so. Good for you.

  • Kathleen says:

Thank You for all your wonderful comments on my blog. I love your posts here, mostly the Joan of Ark post. She is a lady to remember and she lives close to my heart. Thanks for sharing this deeply felt piece of art!

  • Mike Patrick says:

A wonderful poem, well written, made even greater by your subtle use of half rhymes throughout. I reread, not to find the wordle words, but to enjoy the power of the poem again.

  • Bren, we have so much to talk about but I cant find a way to email you. Thanks for your comment on my whale song……I will reply to it on site, rushing out the door right now. But we speak the same language and I see something on your site about crop circles too. I have been getting ready to post something about HAARP. Way back in the 70′s my dearest friend wrote about HAARP, her book is called Angels Dont Play This Haarp…….she has devoted her life to free and clean energy. My other long time friend was just here talking about the messing with the electromagnetic fields etc that you commented on. He took it even further than what you have said, will discvuss this with you by email. Please send your email address to me and we’ll talk further. I have a link to give you that will blow your mind.

    Hello, Bren ‘Daydreamertoo’!

I found your name on a recent comment you made to Pat Cegan’s blog ‘Source of Inspiration’, regarding Crop Circles. I put the question to you right there as a ‘reply’ to what you have said, but you will probably not go back to that precise post, so you will never see my question there. This is why I am asking it to you also here: that footage that you mention, shot with a special night vision lens, do you remember its title and origin? I have also an inner interest in Crop Circles and would like very much to trace back that footage, first of all for myself, and also for recommending it to others.
    Thanking you in advance,
    Bhaga

  • Thank you for your wonderfully supportive e-mail. It’s good to be reminded that I am a survivor, even when I think I am going to evaporate into my grief.

I am glad I found your site. After reading “About” I signed up to receive e-mail notices. We share many experiences, and, selfishly, I think being in touch with your work will inspire me to be more productive. I don’t seem to be able to produce a poem a day. Just can’t squeeze it out of me!

    Again, thanks,
    cj

  • Hello Bren,
I seem to recall that my sister was in the ‘Jacks’ – Junior WRAC perhaps?

    A gale in Eskdale
The frail greenhouse heaves and quakes.
    Will it stand the day?

I love reading your comments. Please do leave a URL link to your blog so that I can return visit .
